Sienna Miller Hacking Debacle Ends In Settlement

Sienna Miller?s hacking nightmare may have finally come to an end after a settlement was reached between the actress and a British tabloid accused of gaining unauthorized access to her cell phone. And we thought the tabloid press was ruthless here in the United States. It turns out that some folks at the News Of The World apparently managed to hack into Miller?s personal cell phone in the hopes of listening to her voice mails. Shockingly, the settlement reached only amounted to �100,000 or $161,720. I?m inclined to think that if this were an American case that we would be talking millions of dollars and maybe even criminal charges. Members of her legal team claimed that she wasn?t after a large sum of money, but was more interested in the principle of the matter, saying that ?the crucial? point of the case was for the perpetrators to ?to know the extent of the wrongdoing.? Another component of the lawsuit was that Miller wanted to know exactly what was taken from her phone. Those excruciating details were being pored over in part by examining roughly 8,000 emails.
