Katie Holmes is turning heads in her new role. The actress plays former first lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the History Channel's new miniseries The Kennedys and her transformation into John F. Kennedy's wife is fairly seamless.
The 31-year-old actress calls the job "really fun!" and says she embraced playing the historic fashion icon.
"Her clothes were magnificent," Holmes tells UsMagazine.com. "I feel so lucky. We have these wonderful seamstresses who are creating beautiful dresses that are obviously replicas of real things (Kennedy) wore. Her great style was both appropriate for every event that she went to and also classic, and also things that were wearable. I feel really lucky to be playing her."
The eight-hour miniseries premieres early next year.
