Courteney Cox Still Has "Strong Feelings" for David Arquette

It's been more than five months since Courteney Cox and David Arquette announced that their marriage was on the rocks in October. Since then, they've been separated and Arquette has been in and out of rehab. But Cox isn't ready to move on just yet.

"If (the marriage) doesn't work out, I will have huge waves of pain about failing in that department," Cox says in the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar. "But right now I don't have that because I don't know what the future holds and I guess because I have strong feelings for him."

Cox, 46, and Arquette, 39, tied the knot in 1999 and are parents to 6-year-old daughter Coco. Their history together has made the Cougar Town star hesitant about divorce. "We loved each other so much, and if anything I feel like we've been extremely successful at marriage," she says.

So why separate in the first place?

"The thing is, when you get older, it's more about compatibility than it is about love," Cox says. "I think it's more about needing just a kind of peace and stillness. I'm kind of all over the place, and I need grounding. I want to be calm..It's nothing with David. It's just what I'm searching for."

It's clear that Cox initiated the split and it was obvious that Arquette took it pretty hard. He let out his emotions by sharing shocking, personal details about their sex life with the press -- namely Howard Stern. But it seems Cox is one to forgive and forget.

"You can't really get mad at David because he's not a malicious person," she says. "He was dealing with things the best way he could...Don't get me wrong, he was on a show for entertainment. David is smart, and David is also a showman. He knew what he was doing."

After his public meltdown, Arquette entered rehab and checked out four weeks later. Now the actor insists he's committed to his sobriety -- and he recently told Oprah Winfrey he's hoping he can save their marriage.

We'll have to wait to see whether the two reconcile. But either way, they'll likely be spending a lot of time together in the near future: Cox and Arquette are costarring in the new Scream movie, opening April 15.
